Design

Lichtraamwerk also designs leaded windows. You can select a design from our collection (varying from Old Dutch to Celtic drawings or Art Nouveau) but you may also make a design yourself or simply give us a picture of the design you want.

Then the next procedure is followed:
-First we make a drawing, using the exact measurements and we number all the pieces of glass.
-Then we make templates which we give the same numbers
-Then we cut out the templates in glass and put all the pieces in het leaded profile
-Finally we solder the crossings of lead in the profile and seal the window.

Lichtraamwerk has an extensive selection of glass. We use a lot of the so-called ´cathedral glass´ which has a rough surface that makes the window nontransparent. Neu Antique or ´antique glass´ or Goethe is made by a glassblower. It always has a characteristic scratch or bubble which enhances the beauty of the incidence of light. For (family portraits), heraldic scenes or coats of arms stained glass is often used.

The whole procedure from design to leaded or stained-glass window takes dedication and time. Nevertheless, the result is an unique theatre of light that comes to life whenever the sun shines upon it.
